Auto edit
The auto edit feature can be used when recording a CD onto a
cassette tape. It edits the tracks on the CD to fit within the recor-
ding length of each side of the tape that you are using.
Before proceeding:
e Check the cassette tape's recording time (C-30, C-46, C-60,
C-90, etc.)
e Make sure that the CD player isin the stop mode before start-
ing auto edit programming.
e Set the amplifier to the CD recording mode.
e Ifthe PROG indicator is on the FL display, press the CLEAR
button to cancel the programmed playback mode.
| Load the compact disc you wish to record.
y) Press the EDIT button on the remote control.
3 Use the numeric buttons to set the recording length of
the cassette tape being used.
When using a C-60 cassette tape for example:
Press the 6 and 0 buttons.
"C-60" will light on the FL display and the CD player will edit
the CD's selections into A and B programmes that fit within
the tape's length. Once programmed the A indicator will
light and all tracks programmed for the first half of the auto
edit programme will appear on the music calendar. The FL
display will show the total remaining time of the cassette
tape being used.
4 After starting recording on the cassette deck, press the
[> button to start playback of the auto edit programme.
After all A programme tracks have been recorded the CD
player will enter the pause mode. The B indicator and all
tracks programmed for the second half of the auto edit pro-
gramme will appear on the music calendar. The FL display
will show the remaining recording time of the cassette tape
being used.
Turn the cassette over and set the cassette deck to the
recording standby mode.

Press the A/B button.
The CD player will be set for playback of the first half of the
auto edit programme.
2 Repeat steps 4 to 6 of the previous section.
To cancel playback of the auto edit feature:
M™@ Press the CLEAR button.
The PROG indicator will disappear.

The Bindicator and remaining recording time will appear on
the FL display and the music calendar will show the pro-
grammed tracks.

3 Press the A/B button again.
The A indicator and remaining recording time will appear on
the FL display and the music calendar will show the pro-
grammed tracks.
4 After confirming the auto edit programme.
Press the A/B button to select the programme you wish to
record.
