Min. temperature -15°C. If the boiler is installed in a place where the
temperature falls below -5°C and in the event there is no gas, or the boiler
goes on "ignition block", the appliance may freeze.
To avoid the risk of freezing, comply with the following instructions:
- Protect the heating circuit from freezing by introducing a good quality
antifreeze liquid, carefully following the manufacturer's instructions
regarding the amount required, and respect the minimum temperature
required for preserving the system.
The boilers are made from materials that are resistant to ethylene and propylene
glycol-based antifreeze liquids.
For life and possible disposal, follow the supplier's instructions.
- Protect the domestic hot water circuit from freezing by using an acces-
sory suppliable by request (antifreezing kit) and comprising an electric
heating element, the relevant wiring and a control thermostat (carefully
read the installation instructions contained in the accessory kit pack).
Boiler antifreezing protection is thus ensured only if:
- the boiler is correctly connected to the electrical power circuit and is fed;
- the antifreezing kit components are efficient.
In these conditions the boiler is protected against freezing to a temperature of
-15°C.
The warranty does not cover damage due to interruption of the electrical power
supply and non-compliance with that given on the previous page.
N.B.: If the boiler is installed in places where the temperature falls below 0°C
the domestic and heating circuit connection pipes must be insulated.
Connections.
Gas connection (Appliance category II
Our boilers are built to operate on methane gas (G20) and LPG. Supply
pipes must be the same as or larger than the 1/2" G boiler fitting. Before
making the gas connection, carefully clean the inside of all the gas supply
piping in order to remove any residuals that could impair boiler efficiency.
Also make sure the gas supply corresponds to that for which the boiler is ar-
ranged (see boiler dataplate). Otherwise, the appliance must be converted for
operation with the other type of gas (see converting appliances for another
type of gas). The dynamic gas supply (methane or LPG) pressure must also
be checked according to the type used in the boiler; as insufficient levels
can reduce generator output and cause malfunctions.
Ensure correct gas cock connection.
The gas supply pipe must be suitably dimensioned according to current
regulations in order to guarantee correct gas flow to the boiler even in
conditions of max. generator output and to guarantee appliance efficiency
(technical data). The coupling system must conform to standards.
Combustible gas quality. The appliance is designed to operate on gas free
of impurities; otherwise it is advisable to fit special filters ahead of the ap-
pliance for restoring the purity of the gas.
Storage tanks (in case of supply from LPG depot).
- New LPG storage tanks may contain residuals of inert gases (nitrogen)
that impoverish the mixture delivered to the appliance, causing anoma-
lous operation.
- Due to the composition of the LPG mixture, layering of the mixture
components may occur during the period of storage in the tanks. This
can cause a variation in the heating power of the mixture delivered to
the appliance, with subsequent change in its performance.
Water connection.
Important: before carrying out the boiler connections all the system pipes
must be carefully cleaned with special descaling products for removing any
deposits that could compromise correct boiler operation.
Water connections must be made in a rational way using the couplings on
the boiler template. The boiler safety valve outlet must be connected to a
discharge funnel. Otherwise, the manufacturer declines any responsibility
in case of flooding if the drain valve cuts in.
Important: to preserve the life and efficiency of the domestic circuit exchanger,
it is advisable to install the "polyphosphate dispenser" kit if the water has
characteristics that can give rise to scale (in particular, the kit is recommended
when the water hardness is higher than 25 degrees French).
Electrical connection. The entire "Eolo Maior kW" boiler has IPX4D
protection rating. Electrical safety of the appliance is guaranteed only when
it is correctly connected to an efficient earthing system, in compliance with
current safety standards.

Important: Immergas S.p.A. declines any responsibility for damage to
persons or things caused by failure to connect the boiler to an earthing
system or non-compliance with the reference standards.
Also ensure that the electrical system is adequate for the maximum power
absorbed by the appliance, specified on the boiler dataplate.
Boilers are supplied complete with a special "X" type power cable without
plug. The power cable must be connected to a 230V ±10% / 50Hz mains
supply respecting the polarity L-N and earth connection
power supply must also be equipped with a multi-pole circuit breaker
with contact opening of at least 3,5 mm. When replacing the power sup-
ply cable, contact a qualified technician (e.g. the Immergas Technical
Assistance Service).
The power cable must be laid as shown.
In the event of mains fuse replacement on the control card, use 3.15A quick-
blow fuses. Never use adapters, multiple sockets or extension leads for the
main power supply from electrical system to the appliance.
Room chronothermostats and external sensor (Optional).
The boiler is arranged for application of room chronothermostats and an
external sensor.
These Immergas components are available as separate kits to the boiler and
are supplied on request.
All Immergas chronothermostats can be connected with just 2 wires.
Carefully read the use and assembly instructions contained in the acces-
sory kit.
• On/Off digital chronothermostat. The chronothermostat enables:
- setting of two room temperature values: one for day (comfort tempera-
ture) and one for night (lower temperature);
- setting up to three on/off differential weekly programs;
- selecting the required function mode from the various possible alterna-
tives:
• permanent operation at comfort temp.
• permanent operation at lower temp.
• permanent function at adjustable antifreeze temp.
The chronothermostat is powered by two 1.5V LR6 type alkaline bat-
teries;
• Remote Friend Control Device with climatic chronothermostat function.
In addition to the functions described above, the Remote Friend Control
enables the user to have under control and at hand all the important
information regarding appliance and heating system operation with
the possibility of easily changing the previously set parameters without
having to go to the place where the appliance is installed. The Remote
Friend Control panel is provided with self-diagnosis to display any boiler
operation anomalies. The climate chronothermostat incorporated in the
remote panel enables the system delivery temperature to be adjusted to
the actual needs of the room being heated, in order to obtain the desired
room temperature with extreme precision and therefore with evident sav-
