N.B.: The boiler may start automatically if the antifreeze or domestic circuit
exchanger preheat function is activated; the boiler comes standard with the
latter function deactivated.
With the boiler main switch on standby (
hot water but the safety functions, such as pump antiblock, antifreeze and
three-way antiblock, are guaranteed in any case.
Fault and anomaly signalling.
The Eolo Maior kW boiler signals a possible anomaly by the flashing of one
of the LEDs from 5 to 11 together with flashing (alternating) of LED 1.
Flashing of LED 1 allows the display of an anomaly even if the front door
is closed.

Ignition block. The boiler lights automatically with every demand for
room heating or domestic hot water production. If the burner does not
ignite within 10 seconds, the boiler remains on standby for 30 seconds,
tries again and if the second attempt fails it goes on "ignition block" (LED
5 flashing). To eliminate the "ignition block", turn the main switch (12)
temporarily to the Reset position. The anomaly can be reset up to 5 times
in a row, after which the function is inhibited for at least 1 hour and an
attempt is gained every hour for a max. of 5 attempts. On first lighting or
following a prolonged period of inactivity the "ignition block" may have
to be eliminated. If this phenomenon occurs frequently, contact a qualified
technician for assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical Assistance Service).
Fume pressure switch failure. This occurs if the intake or exhaust pipes are
blocked or if the fan is blocked. If normal conditions are restored the boiler
restarts without having to be reset. If this anomaly persists, contact a qualified
technician for assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical Assistance Service).
System low pressure. A pressure sufficient to guarantee correct boiler opera-
tion is not detected in the heating water circuit. Make sure the pressure in
the system is between 1÷1.2 bar.
Insufficient water circulating. This occurs if there is overheating in the
boiler due to insufficient water circulating in the primary circuit; the
causes can be:
- low circulation; check that no shutoff devices are closed on the heating
circuit and that the system is free of air (deaerated);
- circulating pump blocked; free the circulating pump.
If this phenomenon occurs frequently, contact a qualified technician for
assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical Assistance Service).
System delivery NTC sensor fault. If the card detects an anomaly in the
system delivery NTC sensor, the boiler will not start; call a qualified techni-
cian (e.g. the Immergas Technical Assistance Service).

Domestic circuit NTC sensor fault. If the card detects an anomaly in the
domestic circuit NTC sensor, the boiler signals the anomaly by LED 10
flashing. In this case the boiler continues to produce domestic hot water
but not with optimal performance. In this case the antifreeze function is
inhibited, therefore it will be necessary to call a qualified technician (e.g.
the Immergas Technical Assistance Service).
Overtemperature block. During normal operation, if an anomaly causes
excessive overheating inside, or due to an anomaly in the boiler flame control
section the boiler goes on overtemperature block (indicator 11 flashing).
To eliminate the "overtemperature block", turn the main switch (12)
temporarily to the Reset position. If this phenomenon occurs frequently,
contact a qualified technician for assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical As-
sistance Service).
Remote Friend Control not compatible. This occurs in case of con-
nection to an incompatible Remote Friend Control, or in case of failed
communication between boiler and Remote Friend Control. Try the
connection procedure again by turning off the boiler and turning the
switch (12) to position (
). On re-lighting, if the Remote Friend
Control (CAR) is not detected the boiler goes on local operation mode,
therefore using the controls on the boiler. If this phenomenon occurs
frequently, contact a qualified technician for assistance (e.g. Immergas
Technical Assistance Service).
Electromechanical contacts. This occurs in case of a resistive contact of
the safety thermostat or fume pressure switch (code 04).
Parasite flame. This occurs in case of a leak on the detection circuit or
anomaly in the flame control unit (code 20).
Signalling and diagnostics - Remote Friend Control Display (optional).
During normal boiler operation the room temperature value is shown on
the Remote Friend Control display; in case of malfunction or anomaly,
the temperature is replaced by the relative error code given in the table
on page 109.
Boiler shutdown.
Disconnect the main switch (12) by turning it to "
off), disconnect the multi-pole switch external to the boiler and close the
gas cock ahead of the appliance. Never leave the boiler switched on if left
unused for long periods.
Restoring heating system pressure.
Periodically check the system water pressure. The boiler pressure gauge
should read a pressure between 1 and 1.2 bar.
If the pressure falls below 1 bar (with system cold) restore normal pressure by
means of the cock located at the bottom of the boiler (see fig.).
N.B.: Close the cock on completion.
If pressure values reach around 3 bar, the safety valve may be activated.
In this case contact professionally qualified personnel for assistance.
In the event of frequent pressure drops, contact professionally qualified
personnel for assistance to eliminate a possible system leak.

Draining the system.
To drain the boiler, use the special drain cock (see fig.).
Before draining, ensure that the filler cock is closed.
