3.2 Commissioning
Before lighting the boiler
•
Check the tightness of the gas system.
•
Check correct prefilling of the expansion vessel.
•
Fill the hydraulic system and make sure that all air contained in the boiler and the system has been vented.
•
Make sure there are no water leaks in the system, DHW circuits, connections or boiler.
•
Make sure there are no flammable liquids or materials near the boiler.
•
Check correct connection of the electrical system and efficiency of the grounding system.
•
Make sure the gas valve is adjusted for the gas to be used (see *** '- THROTTLE position and parameter setting'
on page 178 *** and fig. 32 on page 178 of cap. 3.1 "Adjustments").
•
Fill the trap (see cap. 2.7 "Condensate drain connection").
IF THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT OBSERVED THERE MAY BE RISK
B
OF SUFFOCATION OR POISONING DUE TO GAS OR FUMES ESCAPING;
DANGER OF FIRE OR EXPLOSION. ALSO, THERE MAY BE A RISK OF ELEC-
TRIC SHOCK OR FLOODING THE ROOM.
First boiler ignition
•
Make sure there is no demand from the room thermostat.
•
Turn on the gas and electrically power the boiler; the display will show the software version number and then Fh and
FH air venting cycle (see cap. 1.3 "Connection to the power supply, switching on and off" on page 158).
•
At the end of the FH cycle, the display will show the winter mode screen (fig. 8), make the temperature adjustments:
heating flow and DHW outlet (fig. 12 and fig. 13).
•
Check if the flue parameter value (""Sc" - Combustion Control Parameters Menu" on page 185) is suitable for the
length of flue installed.
•
In case of gas change (G20 - G30 - G31), check if the relevant parameter is suitable for the type of gas present in
the supply system (""Sc" - Combustion Control Parameters Menu" on page 185 and cap. 3.1 "Adjustments" on
page 177).
•
Put the boiler in DHW or heating mode (see cap. 1.3 "Connection to the power supply, switching on and off" on
page 158).
•
In Heating mode, carry out a demand: the display shows the radiator symbol and the actual heating system tempe-
rature; when the flashing flame symbol appears, the burner is lit and the system is performing the calibration. Wait
for the end of calibration, indicated by the steady flame symbol.
•
DHW mode active (by drawing hot water): the faucet symbol appears and the actual DHW temperature is displayed;
when the flashing flame symbol appears it means that the burner is lit and the system is calibrating; wait for the end
of calibration which will be indicated with the steady flame symbol.
•
Carry out the fuel check as described in par. "Checking the combustion values" on page 178.
•
Check that the gas supply pressure ahead of the unit complies with the technical data table or in any case the tole-
rance provided for by the regulations.
3.3 Maintenance
IMPORTANT
ALL MAINTENANCE WORK AND REPLACEMENTS MUST BE CARRIED OUT
B
BY SKILLED QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
Before carrying out any operation inside the boiler, disconnect the power
and close the gas cock upstream. Otherwise there may be a danger of explo-
sion, electric shock, suffocation or poisoning.
