Starting / Stopping the
Engine
Positions of the Master Control lever
STOP
STOP engine position or † – when the
Master Control lever is pushed towards
STOP or †, the ignition system is
interrupted and the engine turns off.
When the Master Control lever is
released, it will return to the operating
position F.
WARNING
Once the engine comes to a standstill
and the Master Control Lever returns to
the operating position, the ignition is
automatically switched on again and the
engine is capable of being restarted.

or capable of being restarted

starting the engine
Adjusting the Master Control lever
To adjust the Master Control lever from
operating position F to start position },
press and hold down the throttle trigger
lockout and throttle trigger
simultaneously – set Master Control
lever to start position } and
simultaneously release the throttle
trigger and throttle trigger lockout.
Simultaneously pressing the throttle
trigger lockout and blipping the throttle
trigger causes the Master Control lever
to jump from the position } to
operating position F.
To switch off the engine, push the
Master Control lever to STOP or †–
when the Master Control lever is
released, it returns to the
operating position F.
Holding the chain saw
There are two ways to hold the chain
saw during starting.
On the ground
Place the chain saw securely on the
N
ground – assume a steady stance-
the saw chain must not touch any
objects and also must not touch the
ground
With the left hand on handlebar,
N
press the chain saw firmly against
the ground – thumb wrapped
around the handlebar
step into the rear handle with the
N
right foot or step on the rear hand
guard with the heel of the right foot
