General information
SAER submersible electric pumps 4" are very reliable appliances, planned to work for many years without
requiring any maintenance provided that they are installed in a correct way and they are properly checked
during their work. Therefore you are kindly requested to read and follow carefully the instructions contained
thoroughly. We decline any responsibility for injury and / or damage to property due to failure to follow our
instructions.
This manual is for use in standard applications; please refer to your sales contract for instructions regarding
special versions. For any technical/commercial problem, contact our Customer Service.
SAFETY INFORMATIONS
Failure to comply with instructions may result in electric shock.

Tampering with the product is prohibited.
The user is responsible for dangers or accidents in relation to other persons and their
property.
Use the pump/electropump only for the purposes described in the paragraph "Anticipated
use." Any other use can be a cause of accidents.
Any operation in regard to transport, installation, connection, starting, functioning and
maintenance or putting out of order must be done by qualified and skilled personnel.
TRANSPORT AND INTERMEDIATE STORAGE
Receiving the product
Upon receiving the product, it is necessary to verify that:
- it has suffered no damage during transport;
- the supply corresponds to what was ordered
In the case of problems, contact the manufacturer's technical support service, providing the product
details shown on the identification plate.
Handling of the product
The submersible electric pumps series 4" with weight inferior to 20 kg. can be manually handled by one
person only. Pumps having weight between 20 and 60 kg., must be manually handled by two persons.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND USE
Description of the product
- a submersible electric pump is composed by a centrifugal pump directly coupled to an electric motor
suitable to work immersed into water; the connection between the rotating part of the motor and the one
of the pump is made by a teethed coupling or, in certain cases, by a keyed coupling.
The pump is studied to be coupled to all types of motor with NEMA standards and it gives good
performances when coupled to SAER submersible motors series CL95.
Foreseen use
SAER submersible electric pumps are suitable for lifting, pressurization and distribution of water for civil
and industrial applications, tanks filling, fire fighting and washing systems, irrigation systems, with suction
of water from cisterns or natural basins.
They are suitable to pump clean liquids, not abrasive, not explosive and not chemically aggressive,
whose characteristics must comply to what specified at chapter "technical specifications".
