1. Operating instructions
(for the user and the professional
electrician)
1.1 Information for the user
Stiebel Eltron heat storage units store
electric heat using low priced off-peak
electricity. They emit this in the form of
hot air which maintains the desired room
temperature.
Safety measures
Heat storage units must not be operated
in rooms, in which there is a risk of fire or
explosion as a result of the presence of
dust, gases or fumes.
The heat storage unit must on no account
be operated, if work such as laying cables,
grinding, sealing, cleaning with petrol and
floor care (spray, floor wax) and suchlike
is in progress in the room where the unit
is installed. The room must first be
adequately aired before charging takes
place.
Caution!
The hot air must be able to flow out
freely! Objects such as e.g. furniture or
other combustible materials must be
outside a radius of at least 500 mm from
the air exit grille (Fig. 3).
Curtains and other textiles must not be
directly exposed to the current of hot air
and must be outside a radius of at least
200 mm from the heat storage unit.
Other minimum distances from surfaces
of objects, combustible or non-
combustible, must be complied with (see
Fig. 4).
The casing surfaces of the appliance and
the air exit grille can heat up to
temperatures of more than 60°C. As a
result, no combustible, inflammable or
insulating objects or materials, such as
washing, blankets, magazines, containers
with floor wax or petrol, aerosol cans and
suchlike may be in the immediate vicinity
of or be placed on the heat storage unit.
In addition, washing must never be hung
over the heat storage unit to dry. This is a
fire hazard! A slight smell will occur when
the heat storage unit is charged for the
first time. Because of this, the room
should be ventilated during and after the
first three charges.
