2. Installation instructions
2.1 Information for the professional
electrician
Work to be carried out by the professio-
nal electrician. The installation, electrical
connection and initial start-up must be
performed by a professional electrician,
who is approved by the competent
electricity distribution company, in
compliance with these installation
instructions. The respective local
regulations are to be observed.
Construction and method of working
Electrical connection
The electrical connection for the charging
component (heating element) of the heat
storage unit (No. 3) may only be
connected to AC 230V 50 Hz. The
connecting lead is inserted into the
appliance through the aperture in the
back cover.
Charging
The beginning and duration of charging
are specified by the competent electricity
distribution company. The amount of heat
in the storage core can be adjusted by
means of the charge thermostat. The heat
storage unit is protected from overheating
by the integrated safety thermostat. If the
temperature drops again, the thermostat
switches the appliance on once more. If
the thermostat fails, the appliance is
disconnected from the mains via the
safety thermal cut-out.
Discharge
The stored heat is emitted to the room
via the surface of the heat storage unit.
The discharge air current through the
appliance can be altered by means of an
adjustable air shutter (No. 9) above the
storage core. If the discharge thermostat
is set to a position >0 and the heat
storage unit is being charged, an increased
temperature develops in the upper area
of the heat storage unit. In this case, a
bimetallic strip (No. 7) places the air
shutter in the "closed" position. Heat
emission during the charging period is
restricted by this means.
2.2 Installation
2.2.1 Place of installation
Room
Heat storage units are not suitable for
heating rooms, in which there is a risk of
fire or explosion as a result of the
presence of chemicals, dust, gases or
fumes. In garages, workshops or other
premises, in which exhaust fumes, oil and
petrol fumes etc. occur, or work with
solvents and chemicals is performed, bad
smells lasting for some time may occur
