• To avoid condensation, do not fit the
lid to the appliance whilst heating the
fat or frying food. See Figure 3.
• Make sure that the food is thoroughly
dry before you fry it. Moist products
can cause severe splashing of the oil
or fat.
• To avoid splashing oil or fat remove as
much ice as possible from frozen food
before frying.
• Do not put too much food in the frying
basket at one time.
1 Put the plug into the wall socket.
2 Turn the thermostat dial to the required
setting. See 'Directions for frying times
and temperatures'. The indicator light
will illuminate. This indicator light shows
that the heating element has been
switched on and the required
temperature has not yet been achieved.
The required temperature has been
attained once the indicator light
extinguishes.
3 Remove the frying basket from the
bowl. Put the food into the frying
basket, and carefully lower it into the
bowl.
4 Take the frying bowl out of the bowl
once the food is cooked. You can use
the hook fitted to the frying basket to
hang it on the inner rim of the bowl (see
Figure 4); the excess oil can then drip
from the frying basket.
5 Put the food onto a plate, preferably on
a sheet of paper kitchen towel.
6 Before frying a fresh portion check that
the temperature indicator light is
extinguished. If it is illuminated wait
until it extinguishes.
7 When you have finished frying put the
frying basket back into the bowl.
8 Place the lid on the bowl.
9 Switch off the deep fryer by turning the
temperature adjustment dial to the
'MIN' position.
10 Remove the plug from the wall socket.
