3. WARNINGS AND SAFETY NOTES
WARNING
• The device must only be used for the purpose for which it was designed
and in the manner specified in these instructions for use�
• This device may be used by children over the age of 8 and by people
with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills, or a lack of experience
and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been
instructed on how to use the device safely, and have understood the
risks involved�
• Children must not play with the device�
• Danger of suffocation! Keep packaging materials away from children�
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children
unless supervised�
DANGER
• Do not use this device near bathtubs, shower trays or other
containers which have water in them�
• Risk of electric shock! Never submerge the device in water or other
liquids! If the device falls into water, do not reach into the water! First
switch off the fuse at the fuse box and then pull the mains plug out of
the socket�
• If using the curling tongs in the bathroom, unplug them after use –
this is because proximity to water constitutes a danger even when the
curling tongs are switched off�
• As an additional safety measure, the installation in the bathroom circuit
of a residual current device (FI/RCD) with a rated tripping current not
exceeding 30 mA is recommended� Ask your installer for advice�

• This device is not designed for use in commercial areas�
• If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service department or a
similarly qualified person to avoid any risk� Do not use the device if it is
damaged or not functioning correctly�
• Do not pull, twist or bend the mains cable

around the curling tongs!
