TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Motor fails to start.
Edger stops during
operation.
Uneven edge.

CAUSE
◾
The battery pack is not
attached to the edger.
◾
No electrical contact
between the edger and the
battery pack.
◾
The battery pack charge is
depleted.
◾
The lock-off lever and
trigger switch are not
depressed simultaneously.
◾
The motor is overloaded.
See the chapter "Machine
Overload Protection".
◾
The battery pack is too
hot. See the chapter
"Battery High-temperature
Protection".
◾
The edger is too hot. See
the chapter "Machine
High-temperature
Protection".
◾
The battery pack is
disconnected from the
machine.
◾
The battery pack charge is
depleted.
◾
Grass or soil being edged
is too wet.
◾
Blade guard is clogged.
SOLUTION
◾
Attach the battery pack to the edger.
◾
Remove the battery, check contacts
and reinstall the battery pack until it
snaps into place.
◾
Charge the battery pack with EGO
chargers listed in this manual.
◾
Move the lock-off lever forward and
press the trigger switch at the same
time.
◾
The motor will recover when the load
is removed. For continuous working,
decrease the load on the edger.
◾
Remove the battery pack and
cool the battery pack until the
temperature drops below 152°F
(67°C).
◾
Remove the battery pack and cool
the edger until the temperature
drops below 176 °F (80 °C).
◾
Re-install the battery pack.
◾
Charge the battery pack with EGO
chargers listed in this manual.
◾
Avoid edging in wet soil or wet
grass.
◾
Stop the motor, remove the battery
pack, and remove debris from the
blade guard.
