Maintenance is carried out by the manufacturer (or by authorized workshops). Only original
Elster spare parts may be used.

14. Decommissioning

Slowlydecreasethepressure(max.350mbar/s).
Donotopenthecouplinguntiltheoperatingpressureiszero.
Onlyremovethemeterwhenthepipehasbeendepressurized.

15. Recycling and Environmental Protection

Elster-Instromethasreducedthetransportpackagingsofitsmeasuringinstrumentstothebare
essentials.Packagingmaterialsarealwaysselectedconsistentlywithaviewtorecycling.The
cardboarditemsusedconstitutesecondaryrawmaterialsforthepaperboardandpaperindus-
try.TheInstapak®foam packaging items are recyclable and can be reused.
Plasticsheetingandstrips/bandsarealsomadeofrecyclableplastic.AtElster-Instromet,sub-
sequentrecyclinganddisposalarealreadyelementsoftheproductdevelopmentprocess.When
selectingthematerials,weallowforreusabilityofthematerials,suitabilityofmaterialsandsub-
assembliesfordismantlingandseparation,andtherisksofenvironmentalpollutionandhealth
riskswhenrecyclinganddumpingonlandfillsites.Theturbinegasmetersandquantometers
mainlyconsistofmetallicmaterialswhichcanbemelteddownagaininsteelworksandmetal-
lurgicalplantsandwhichcanthusbereusedavirtuallyunlimitednumberoftimes.Theplastics
used are listed in Annex B so that sorting and separating of the materials for the purposes of
subsequentrecyclingispossible.
Transport:
– Formeterswithoutoilpump:draintheoil.
– Protect the meter against transport damage.
