2. Remove the oil stem from the tube and check.
3. Insert and close with the stem.
IMPORTANT:
• Check the oil level before each use. Add oil if necessary. Fill the maximum mark on the rod.
• Change the oil after every 25 hours of service or every season. You may have to change the oil more often if you work
in places where there is more dust. See "CHANGING ENGINE OIL" in the maintenance section of this manual.
Gas filling
• Fill the fuel tank at the bottom of the tank neck. Do not overfill. Use 95 unleaded gasoline that is clean and fresh. Do
not mix oil with gasoline. Buy the fuel in quantities you can consume within 30 days to make sure it is fresh.
CAUTION: Wipe off any oil or fuel spillage with a cloth. Do not store, spill or use gasoline near a fire.
CAUTION: Fuels mixed with alcohol (called gasohol or with ethanol or methanol) can carry water that tends to
separate and form acids during the storage time.
These acid gases can damage the carburetor system of the engine while it is stored. To avoid engine problems, it is
recommended to empty the carburetion system before storing it for 30 days or more. Empty the fuel tank, start the
engine and let it run until the carburetor hose is empty. Use fresh fuel next season. For more information, read the
storage instructions.
Never use cleaning agents with the engine or carburetor as this may permanently damage them.
5. STARTING THE ENGINE
To start the engine, first make sure that both the spark plug and the engine have enough oil and fuel.
NOTE:
Due to the protective coating on the motor, a little bit of motor may come off when using this product for the first time
and this should be considered normal. Keep the control bar down against the handlebar and pull the manual starter
briskly. Do not let the manual starter rope return.
Hot start
Press the choke ONLY ONCE. This is located at the front of the engine, next to the carburettor and is usually yellow.
Cold start
In cold weather, it will be necessary to press the filter air button to prime it before pulling the manual starter. (See fig. 1). It
is advisable to prime it with more fuel and air so that it starts easily. When you press the primer, it will pump fuel directly
into the carburetor.
