HEADSET ASSEMBLY (INITIAL SETUP)
NOTE :
For the complete assembly of your LOOK headset, we strongly recommend that you
contact your authorized retailer.
To cut the steerer tube, please see Expander section.
1 - Grease the upper bearing seat of your frame and
insert a bearing (12).
2 - Grease the lower bearing seat of your frame and
fork and insert a bearing (12), taking care to place
the outer chamfer towards the inside of the head
tube, then slide the fork into the frame.
3 - Grease and slide the compression cup (11) onto
the steerer tube until it reaches the upper bearing.
4 - Slide the junction spacer (10) onto the steerer
tube until it reaches the compression cup (11).
5 - Insert as many 5mm or 10mm riser spacers (9)
as required, taking care to thread the hoses through
and without exceeding a maximum rise of 40mm.
6 - Degrease the stem (8) and install it by applying
firm pressure to overcome the stiffness of the hoses
and bend them to follow the curve in the stem.
7 - If the desired handlebar height is lower than the
factory settings, cut your steerer tube (see Expander
Instructions).
8 - Insert the expander plug (4) (see Expander
Instructions).
9 - Insert the screw (2) and the cap (3), then tighten
until there is no more play in the headset, without
exceeding 3 Nm.
10 - Insert the brackets (5 and 7). The bracket
marked R should be positioned vertically to the
right of the stem, and the bracket marked L should
be positioned vertically to the left of the stem. The
letters R and L must be visible.
11 - Check that the headset parts (8, 9, 10) are
perfectly aligned and tighten the bolts (6) to a torque
of 8Nm.
12 - Fit the protective cover (1) with its integrated
magnet.
