2.2.- FUNDAMENTAL, BACK PANEL DESCRIPTION

A) SERIAL NUMBER
Each amplifier has its own individual serial number. A quality control
spec sheet which corresponds to every number is kept at the
factory for quality control, and ensures that the unit has been fully
verified.
B) MAINS LEAD
The mains lead has three isolated copper cables for connection to
mains.
Colour codes are as follows
- Brown: Live
- Blue:
Neutral
- Yellow-green:Earth
C) INPUTS - XLR
XLR and 1/4" phone (jack) inputs are connected in parallel. The
inputs' pin coding is shown in Fig. 2.3. For unbalanced use connect
the (-) pin to ground as shown. Nominal input impedance is 20 kΩ
for balanced use and 10 kΩ for unbalanced use.
Polarity complies to AES14-1992 (ANSI S4.48-1992)
D) INPUTS - 1/4" (6.35 mm) PHONE ("JACK")
Each channel is equipped with a 1/4 inch, stereo phone ("jack")
input, in parallel with the XLR input. For balanced operation, plug
a connector wired as shown in Fig. 2.3 into the 1/4" input. For
unbalanced operation, connect a mono jack (1/4" phone)
connector to the
1
/
" input. Input impedance is 20 kΩ for
4
balanced use and 10 kΩ for unbalanced use.

E) OUTPUT TERMINALS. BINDING POSTS
Polarity is clearly indicated by black (-) and red (+) output
terminals.
F) FAN GRILL
Keep clean and dust-free to assure free air circulation for proper
cooling.
G) INPUT MODULE (E-8, E-12 and E-20 only)
This array of mini-DIP switches allows for different input
configurations. The ON position represents activation. Figure 2.4
shows detail.
Switches 1 and 2 enable limiting of channels A and B respectively.
Switch 9 changes the high-pass filter cut-off frequency from 35 Hz
(ON) to 60 Hz (OFF). Switch 12 does the same for channel B. Filter
slope is 12 dB/octave.
Switches 10 and 11 enable the low-pass filter for channels A and B
respectively.
Mode selection :
Enable (set to ON) switches 3 and 4 to use the amplifier in bridge
mode, and ensure that switches 5, 6, 7 and 8 are OFF. Refer to the
Appendix in section 8 for bridge mode operations instructions. We
