The red clip LED also indicates short-circuit at the output. Although
this protection is provided, it is dangerous that the amplifier remains
in this situation for a long time. In case of a short-circuit, turn off the
amplifier while examining any equipment connected to the
amplifier's output, together with the connections and cabling.
This LED also indicates an impedance load that is too low.
Models E-2 and E-4 use arrays of self-managed amplification cells,
each of which independently features a full set of protections,
which makes the amplifier virtually indestructible, protecting it
against AC supply oscillations, short-circuits, thermal runaway and
transient temperature peaks. In case of overheating, the amplifier
will disconnect the output, but there is no LED indication that the
protection is active. When the amplifier has cooled down, the
output will be connected and operation will resume.
F
D) SAFEGUARD LED (E-8, E-12 and E-20 only)
When the output is disconnected by the amplifier's protection, this
orange LED is on. The control circuit for the activation has some
degree
of
built-in
hysterisis to avoid turn-
on and off oscillations.
If the amplifier exceeds
normal
temperature
levels, the SAFEGUARD
LED will turn on and the
output
will
be
deactivated via a relay.
Once cooled, the LED

will turn off and output is reactivated.
DC detection is also provided. Since it may severely damage
speakers, the amplifier will deactivate the output in the event that
DC levels are too high. If load impedance is too low, the amplifier is
also deactivated.
When the amplifier is switched on, the output is also deactivated
for a few seconds to prevent dangerous transients from damaging
the speakers, and the SAFEGUARD LED is on until the amplifier is
ready for use.
D) SIGNAL PRESENT LED INDICATOR (models E-2 and E-4)
This green LED shows the presence of signal at the amplifier's
inputs regardless of the position of the volume control.

E) IDLE LED
When lit, this green LED shows that the amplifier is on.

F) LEVEL CONTROLS
Volume levels for each channel
can be adjusted by using the
knobs found on the front panel.
The effect is the same as
adjusting the gain of the
amplifier. The maximum level
is obtained the INPUT LEVEL
rotary potentiometer is rotated
fully clockwise.
