USING THE RANGE
OVEN RACKS
Rack Posit ions
Recommended rack posit ions for various t ypes of foods are
provided in t he Cooking Guide. Adjust ing t he rack posit ion is
one way t o impact cooking result s. For example, if you would
prefer darker t ops on cakes, muffins or cookies, t ry moving
food one rack posit ion higher. If you find foods are t oo brown
on t op, t ry moving t hem down next t ime.
When baking wit h mult iple pans and on mult iple racks, ensure
t here is sufficient space bet ween pans t o allow air t o flow.
This may improve cooking evenness.
Removing and Replacing Flat Racks
When placing and removing cookware, pull t he rack out t o
t he bump (st op posit ion) on t he rack support .
To remove a rack, pull it t oward you unt il it reaches t he st op
posit ion, t ilt up t he front of t he rack and pull it out .
To replace a rack,
place t he curved end
of t he rack ont o t he
rack support s. Tilt up
t he front of t he rack
and push t he rack in
unt il it st ops. Then lay
t he rack flat and push
it in unt il it is all t he
way int o t he oven.
Racks may become
difficult t o slide.
To improve sliding
condit ions, use a soft
clot h or paper t owel
t o rub veget able oil
on t he left and right
edges of t he racks
and/ or rack support s.
NOTE: Remove
unused racks when
using t he oven for
fast er preheat ,
improved efficiency,
and opt imal cooking
performance.

OVEN AIR VENTS
Never block t he vent s (air openings) of t he range. They
provide t he air inlet and out let t hat are necessary for t he
range t o keep cool and operat e properly wit h correct
combust ion.
Air openings are locat ed at t he rear of t he cookt op, at t he t op
and bot t om of t he oven door, and at t he bot t om of t he range.
ALUMINUM FOIL AND OVEN LINERS
CAUTION
Do not use any t ype of foil or oven liner t o
cover t he oven bot t om. These it ems can t rap heat or melt ,
result ing in damage t o t he product and risk of shock, smoke
or fire. Damage from improper use of t hese it ems is not
covered by t he product warrant y.
Foil may be used t o cat ch spills by placing a sheet on a lower
rack, several inches below t he food. Do not use more foil
t han necessary and never ent irely cover an oven rack wit h
aluminum foil. Keep foil at least 1- 1/ 2" from oven walls t o
prevent poor heat circulat ion.
