DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS
BENCH GRINDER SAFETY WARNINGS
Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use, inspect the
accessor such as abrasive wheels for chips and cracks and wire
brushes for loose or cracked wires. After inspecting and
instigating an accessory, position yourself and bystanders
away from the plane of the rotating accessory and run the
power tool at maximum no-load speed for one minute.
Damaged accessories will normally break apart during this test
time.
The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the
maximum speed marked on the power tool. Accessories running
faster than their rated speed can break and fly apart.
Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the wire brush even
during ordinary operation. Do not overstress the wires by
applying excessive load to the wire brush. The wire bristles can
easily penetrate light clothing and/or skin.
Never grind on the sides of a grinding wheel. Grinding on the
side can cause the wheel to break and fly apart.

PREPARATION FOR OPERATION
GRINDER INSTALLATION ON A WORKSHOP BENCH
Four rubber cushions (14) help to limit vibrations and sound
transfer. It is recommended to firmly fix the grinder to a workbench
or a stand with the use of two fixing points designed for such
purpose. They are located on the bench grinder base (fixing bolts
are not included) and guarantee safe operation. Hole for bench
fixing (5) is located at each side of the grinder. The holes allow to
use screws or bolts with diameters up to 10 mm. When the grinder
is to be installed on a metal work-bench it is recommended to put
a piece of wood under the grinder. Fixing screws should go
through the wooden base. Use of wood helps to limit vibrations.
When you use screws for installation do not remove four
rubber cushions (14). In case of direct fixing of the bench
grinder, ensure that:
- The surface under the grinder is flat and clean,
- Screws are equally tightened without excessive torque.
FIXING AND ADJUSTING EYE SHIELDS AND SPARK SHIELD
Prior to fixing of supports for eye shields ensure the grinder is
switched off and that its plug is removed from the mains
socket. Prior to every use of the grinder ensure the eye shields
(1) and (2) are properly installed. Eye shield must be installed
on appropriate support above each of the grinding wheels.
Magnifying eye shield (2) is characterised by a magnifying glass
that ensures better visibility of the processed spot and thus better
precision of the operation performed. Install eye shield with
magnifying glass (2) on the left grinding wheel cover, and the
second eye shield (1) on the right grinding wheel cover.
• Use supplied screws, washers and arms to fix eye shields.
• Join transparent plastic plate (a) with metal plate (b) (fig. A).
• Tighten element (b) on the stem and install thus assembled
shield to grinding wheel cover (fig. B).
• Adjust height and angle of eye shields so they match operator
and type of work performed.
