11.3 Stairs and height difference (how to face them)
WARNING!
The following method must be used only from experienced patients. If you are not
experienced, let you help from an assistant.
GET ON: Position the wheelchair at the curb to be crossed. Balance the wheelchair on the rear
wheels, in order to lift the front wheels, enough to lean them on the obstacle. Bend your trunk
forward and vigorously push the handrail. Continue pushing until the rear wheels are climbing over
the obstacle.
GET OFF: To get off the stair follow the reverse procedure, positioning the rear side of the whee-
lchair at the curb, keep the handrails vigorously and get off the obstacle slowly; then balance the
wheelchair on the rear wheels in order to complete the descent.

We recommend to use this method only in presence of obstacle lower than 10cm

11.6 Use the 60 cm rear wheels
Use rear wheels for self-propelling. Grasp the handrail and wheel through the desired direction.
11.7 Use the 30cm rear wheels
The rear 30cm wheels are used when wheel choir is driven by an assistant through the handles.
11.4 Use the footrest

Length adjustment- loosen the screw
Adjust the footrest length then tighten the screw.
11.5 Use the reclining backrest
Press the release lever (Fig.8), push slightly the backrest downwards
to adjust the inclination of the backrest. Gently push upwards to
bring the angle of the backrest back to right-angled
