- SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH DIRECTIVE 2014/34/EU
Process fluid temperatures other than those shown in Table 1 do not allow the reference temperature class to be complied
with, thereby invalidating the requirements concerning safety and protection against the risk of explosion.
If the user foresees the risk of exceeding the temperature limits indicated in Table 1, a protective device must be installed which
conforms to Directive 2014/34/EU and which has minimum safety function efficiency equal to PL=c, category=2, in accordance
with UNI EN 13849-1:2008, which prevents the following surface temperatures on the pump from being reached:
T = 370 °C FOR CLASS T1
T = 290 °C FOR CLASS T2
T = 190 °C FOR CLASS T3
T = 125 °C FOR CLASS T4
The protective device must be connected to the control panel and must stop the pump when the set threshold is reached. The
connection must be carried out by specialised personnel and in compliance with the regulations in force.
If the protective device is installed, these temperature class instructions replace the values indicated in Table 1.
The V pumps conforming to Directive 2014/34/EU are pre-equipped for a temperature probe (supplied on request) to be secured
in the area of the axial seal (Fig. 3). In this case, it must be calibrated according to the following table:
The temperature probe must be connected to the control panel and must stop the pump when the set threshold is reached. The
connection must be carried out by specialised personnel and in compliance with the regulations in force.
The thermal compatibility between the pumped fluid and the pump materials must be checked.
7.1
PUMPS WITH HEATING JACKETS
In the case of pumps built with a heating jacket/s, the integrator/installer must ensure that the temperature of the heating
fluid does not exceed the values indicated in Table 3. If, following the process risk analysis, the integrator/installer decides
to install a sensor to guarantee this condition, it must be integrated into a circuit whose minimum safety function efficiency
is equal to PL=c, category=2, in accordance with Standard UNI EN 13849-1:2008; this sensor must be connected to the
control panel and must stop the pump when the set threshold is reached. The connection must be carried out by specialised
personnel and in compliance with the regulations in force.
