SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Avoid working in bad weather conditions, such as when it is foggy, heavy rainy or strongly windy.
Be careful when cutting free falling branches. They could cause loss of control of the tool.
Inhaling atomized oil or wooden dust can cause irritation or intoxication of the operator's breathing
system. In case of prolonged problems a specialist has to be contacted.
2.3 Tool operating precautions
Always hold the tool with both hands and make sure you are in a steady and safe work position.
Use the tool just for the aims indicated in ch. "Product description". Any other kind of use may cause injuries.
Always check that the safety devices are perfectly efficient.
Transport the tool by keeping its bar (6) backwards, protected by the cover (12). The air hose must be
disconnected from the coupling.
Before starting the tool, make sure the chain (5) is not in contact with anything.
Hold the handle and the tool with both hands tight.
When cutting, make the motor run at high speed.
Never cut branches having a diameter which is over 150 mm.
Follow the chain manufacturer's instructions as for the chain sharpening and maintenance.
Never use the tool if it is damaged, wrongly regulated or only partially assembled.
Be very careful when cutting bushes or small shrubs, since soft parts may get entangled in the chain (5) and
then be thrown against the operator, or they may make him loose his balance.
Check the oil level in the lubricator glass. Lack of oil causes chain (5) seizing.
Be careful with the kickback effects due to upwards-directed reaction movements of the bar (6). They may make
the operator lose his balance or the tool control.
SAFETY RULES ABOUT THE KICKBACK EFFECT
Kickback may be caused when the bar top (6) touches an object, or when some wood stops or crushes the
chain (5) during the cutting operations. In order to prevent from or reduce the kickback effect, hold the tool with
both hands tight.
