USEFUL HINTS
Always use original Reich blades.
When cutting plastic or Plexiglas panels it is advisable
to use a guide support held fi rm by vices to obtain
perfect and good quality cuts.
When cutting plastic, Plexiglas or PVC, long shavings
and electrostatic charges can build up and obstruct
the aeration slits in the machine. In such cases it is
advisable to use a suction unit and continually clean
the machine.
When cutting stratifi ed, spongy or very hard wood
which produce poisonous dust, it is advisable to
wear an anti-dust mask and apply a suction unit to
the machine.
When cutting U-shaped profi les, never start to cut at
the open end of the profi le.
Always keep the blade very sharp and in good
condition, if in doubt do change the blade: your safety
is at stake.
6.7
SHAVINGS SUCTION UNITS
In order to keep working areas clean and dust free, the
machine has been fi tted with a suction pipe union.
To carry out this operation, connect a corrugated pipe
to this union.
6.8
IMPROPER USE
The functions and use of this tool are those exclusively
indicated in this manual.
Any other use of the tool is explicitly forbidden !
7
MAINTENANCE
Regular inspec tion reduc es the nec essit y for
maintenance operations and will keep your tool in
good working condition. The tool bearings and gears
are life-long lubricated, however it is advised to check
the condition of the grease in the head every 100
hours, if necessary replace the grease (use GR-MU-EP2
AGIP grease, or a similar product). The motor must
be correctly ventilated during tool operation. For this
reason avoid blocking the air inlets with hands.
The movable needle on the blade support should be
periodically lubricated with a few drops of oil.
After use disconnect the tool from the power supply
and clean carefully.
7.1
DISPOSAL
At the end of the machine's working life, or when it
can no longer be repaired, ensure that it is disposed of
according to the standard regulations of the country in
which it is being used, and that the disposal operation
is carried out by specialized personnel following
authorized guidelines.
In all circumstances:
- Do not abandon in the environment;
- Do not dispose of together with solid urban waste
products;
- Contact the special recycling centers.
8
PARTS REPLACEMENT
Attention!
Disconnect the plug from the power supply socket
before replacing any parts.
8.1
BRUSHES
The brushes must be replaced after approx. 150-200
working hours, or if they are less then 5-6 mm in
length.
One of the two brushes assembled on the machine
is self-detaching: once the brush exceeds a certain
level of wear the motor stops, avoiding damage to
the header.
Attention!
For correct tool operation always change the
brushes in pairs, not separately. The use of original
Reich spare parts is recommended.
Given the diffi culty of this operation, it is advised
that it should only be performed by an authorized
service center.
Attention!
After having fi tted new brushes allow the motor to
run for at least 5 minutes.
8.2
REPLACING THE POWER SUPPLY CABLE
Check that the power supply cable is in good condition,
if not have it replaced by an authorized service
center.
8.3
CHANGING THE BLADES (fi g. 11 and 12)
For perfect operation and optimal tool performance,
only use original Reich blades.
It is advisable to wear work gloves when changing
the blades.
- Open the cutting depth stop to its maximum
extent.
- Release the tool head from the safety catch.
- Press the front hand grip of the machine until the blade
locking screw (B) is in the middle of the slit (A).
- Lock the blade holder shaft by pushing the lever

- Using the Allen wrench provided, unscrew and
remove the screw (B) which locks the external fl ange
(D) holding the blade.
- Remove the fl ange (D) and extract the blade from
the shaft (E).
- Extract the blade downwards. Make sure the teeth
of the blade do not come into contact with metallic
parts of the machine.
- Before assembling a new blade, carefully clean the
locking fl anges.
- Assemble the new blade and make sure the arrow
indicating the rotation direction on the blade points in
the same direction as the arrow on the guard (F).
- Replace the external fl ange (D) making sure that it is
perfectly inserted on the shaft.
- Re pla c e and tighten the lo c k ing s c r ew (B)
