Maintenance / repair
NOTICE! Only approved specialists authorised by the operator may undertake
maintenance and repair work.
Check moving parts for ease of movement and if necessary lubricate with commercially-available grease.
Check screw connections
Regular inspections are to be carried out at least once a year by a qualified employee of the operator.
In the event of damage or a particular incident that could influence load capacity, as well as after any
repairs, an additional inspection by a qualified person is to be carried out.
Prior cleaning of the handling system may be necessary before a visual and operational inspection. This
applies particularly if the equipment is contaminated with substances e.g. dyes or salts from previous use.
A visual and operational inspection should include fissures, deformities, cracks, damage, wear, corrosion
damage and operational faults of the handling system
As proof that the inspection has been carried out an inspection report is to be compiled and kept by the
operator.
If there are visible deformities, obvious damage, or heavy wear of the screws and screw guides the
handling system must not be used until repaired.
