OPERATION
OPERATING THE BACKPACK VAC (Fig. 9)
NOTE: The power cord should NOT be plugged into the
wall outlet at this time.
Do Not operate the vacuum without the power cord
installed in the cord retainer, see Figs. 5A, 5B & 5C.
NOTE: Do not tie power cord to the waist belt or any
portion on the body harness. Doing so will result in
damage to the power cord and will not be covered
under warranty.
With Backpack Vac (A) securely positioned and fastened
on body, continue with the following:
1. Attach one of the extension wand locking tab end to
the non-tab end of the other extension wand (G).
Depending on the surface cleanup, choose one of the
following accessory attachments:
2a. To clean tough messes on carpets: Attach the
carpet brush insert (I) onto the bottom of the
master floor tool (H) by sliding both grey locking
buttons outward to the "LOCK" position.
To detach the carpet brush insert: Slide both grey
locking buttons inward to the "OPEN" position on
the master floor tool to release the carpet brush
insert.
2b. To clean tough messes on hard surfaces: Attach the
floor brush insert (J) onto the bottom of the master
floor tool (H) by sliding both grey locking buttons
outward to the "LOCK" position.
To detach the floor brush insert: Slide both grey
locking buttons inward to the "OPEN" position on
the master floor tool to release the floor brush
insert.
2c. To clean debris in tight spaces: Attach the crevice
tool (E) to the extension wand locking tab end.
2d. To clean using bristles for easy removal of dust:
Attach the dusting brush (F) to the extension wand
locking tab end.
3. With the hose (D) already installed into the top of
the Backpack Vac lid, push the extension wands
into the hose end.
4. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
5. The ON/OFF switch box is conveniently located near
the waist belt of the Backpack Vac.
6. With power cord plugged in, turn the Vac "ON" by
pushing the switch from position "O" to position
"I", located on the switch box. To turn "OFF",
push the switch from position "I" to position "O".
The symbols used on the switch actuator are
international "ON & OFF" symbols.
