NOTES ON INSTRUMENT SAFETY
Particular attention must be paid to the following warnings:
DANGER
Risk of electric shock
− The power plug is equipped with an protective earth conductor, therefore, it has to be
used with an appropriately equipped socket.
− The protective capacity must not be rendered ineffective by the use of extension cables
with no earth conductor.
− In case of error there is a risk of contact with life-threatening mains voltage.
DANGER
Risk of damage to the device from penetrating moisture
− Devices with a mains connection and their accessories (particularly external table power
pack) must not come into contact with moisture or liquids.
− If the housing of devices or accessories that conduct mains voltage (e.g. table power pack)
is damaged, these must be permanently taken out of service and disconnected from the
mains.
− Non-compliance in both cases results in exposure to life-threatening mains voltage.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
− Always switch off the device and pull out the power plug before cleaning or opening the
device.
− Disconnect the power plug before changing device fuses. Failure to do so may result in
contact with life-threatening mains voltage.
CAUTION
Risk of electric shock, overheating of the power cable, in worst case, fire
Where there are detachable power cables, please note the following:
− Detachable power supply cables must not be replaced with power supply cables that do
not meet the specifications.
− Use only the specified power cables to avoid these becoming severely overheated.
