OPERATION
1.23 Shoe Hardware
On new machines, or after replacing shoe, check and

tighten shoe hardware
operation. Inspect hardware every week thereafter.
Torque hardware as specified.
1.24 Long-Term Storage
1. Drain fuel from the fuel tank.
2. Start the engine and run it until remaining fuel is used.
3. Cover the rammer and store in a clean, dry location.
1.25 Troubleshooting
Problem / Symptom
Engine does not start, or stalls.
Engine does not accelerate,
is hard to start, or runs erratically.
Engine overheats.
Engine runs; rammer does not tamp.
Engine runs, rammer operation is erratic.

1. Oil/grease on clutch.
2. Broken/worn springs.
3. Soil buildup on ramming shoe.
4. Broken parts in ramming system or crankcase.
5. Engine operating speed is too high.
