: Thread the ends of the lines (6)
through the sleeves (7) and push
spool (2) into the head so that it
snaps into position.
Nylon lines must disengage from
notches (5) as the spool is pushed
into position.
: Pull out the ends of the lines as far
as stop.
: Mount the mowing head on the
machine.

: Use flat file – see "Special
Accessories" – to sharpen dull grass
cutting blades. In case of more
serious wear or nicks: Resharpen
with grinder or have work done by a
STIHL dealer.
:
Resharpen frequently, take away as
little material as possible – two or
three strokes of the file are usually
enough.

To avoid out-of-balance!
:
Resharpen the cutters (1) uniformly
– do not alter the contour or the
parent blade (2) in any way.
:
After resharpening about 5 times,
have blade checked on STIHL
balancer – see "Special
Accessories" – and rebalanced as
necessary.

Sharpen as described in the
instructions supplied or printed on
the inside of the blade's packaging.
Scratcher tooth circular saw

:
Use a flat sharpening file to file the
backs of the teeth until the tips are
restored to full sharpness.
