5. Measuring with tripod [TRIPOD]
5.1 ON
Measuring with tripod.
5.2 OFF
Measuring without tripod.
In the ON setting, the measuring reference is
adapted for use with a tripod. When OFF, the
symbol TRIPOD is indicated on the display.
6. Display/button illumination
6.1 ON
The illumination is switched on.
6.2 OFF
The illumination is switched off.
When ON, the illumination is switched on when
the brightness sensor detects insufficient light con-
ditions.
7. Factory settings [RESET]
7.1 ON
Factory settings activated.
7.2 OFF
Factory settings deactivated.
NOTE: When activating the factory settings, the
own menu settings and memory contents are lost.
Initial Operation
DANGER: Do not look into the laser
beam!
Switching the Tool On
The battery display appears. The tool is in its base
mode and ready to take the first measurement.
A measurement is taken when pressing the
button again. The laser beam is deactivated
after each measurement and has to be reacti-
vated with the
button (except when the laser
is set to "continuous").
The tool automatically switches off 360 sec-
onds after the last pushbutton actuation.
Deleting
Upon actuation, the shown value is deleted.
Within the "Area" and "Volume" measuring
function, the individual distances can be deleted
and then measured again afterwards.
Front or rear stop/rest
After switching on, the zero point for all
measurements is at the rear edge of the
measuring tool.
– Press pushbutton briefly (brief audio sig-
nal):
For one measurement, the zero point is
the front edge of the measuring tool.
– Press pushbutton longer (long audio sig-
nal):
The zero point for all measurements is
the front edge of the measuring tool.
– Press pushbutton briefly (brief audio sig-
nal):
The zero point is the rear edge of the
measuring tool again.
Measuring Procedure

DANGER: Do not point the laser beam at
other persons or animals!
Length Measurement
Switch on the laser with the
Align the laser point onto the target and actuate
a length measurement by once more briefly
pressing the
pushbutton. The measured
length is indicated in the display.
The laser automatically switches off
180 seconds after the last pushbutton actu-
ation.
NOTE: Measurement errors can occur on the
following surfaces: Transparent liquids, glass,
Styrofoam, semipermeable surfaces, glossy sur-
faces. Measurements on dark and matt surfaces
lead to increased measuring periods.
Tracking
Tracking is suitable for determining the diago-
nal within a space
(greatest determined
length) or the right-angled length onto a wall
(shortest determined length). It is also suitable
for marking out distances
.
Switch on the laser with the
Align the laser point onto the target and actuate
the continuous measurement by once more
pressing the
pushbutton for a longer
period. During the measurement, the laser point
must be moved over the target.
A fast beeping tone sounds during the measur-
ing.
