Set Top Box Multi Channel
Sound from the Speaker
System
You can enjoy the sound from connected
equipment through the speakers of this system. Be
sure to connect your TV or other equipment
correctly.

Press [/1 to turn on the system.
• If "
FM" or "AM" is selected, press HDD or
DVD.

If you are using the SCART connection, press
TV/DVD repeatedly to turn on the
indicator in the front panel display, and
select the desired sound on the TV or
equipment.

Press INPUT SELECT repeatedly to select
an input source according to the
connection you made.
The front panel display changes as follows:

Connect the set top box receiver to the LINE
3 DIGITAL IN (OPTICAL) jack using the
optical digital cord (not supplied) (page 37),
and set "Line 3 Input" to "Optical In" in the
"Audio" setup (page 120).

Press SOUND FIELD to select the sound
field you want.

When you use LINE 3 DIGITAL IN (OPTICAL) and the
selected sound field is AUTO, you can enjoy multi-
channel signals with front surround sound.
Even when you use LINE 3 DIGITAL IN (OPTICAL)
and the selected sound field is AUTO, if the system
receives a 2-channel signal, the system will still only
output a 2-channel sound. For details on the sound field,
see page 87.

• When using the SCART connection, be sure to follow
the procedures in step 1 or noise may result. If noise
continues after turning on the "TV" indicator, check
the output setting of the connected TV or equipment.
See the instructions supplied with the TV/equipment
for details.
• If "D.IN" blinks on the front panel display when "Line
3 Input" is set to "Optical In" in the "Audio" setup,
[/1
check the connection to the LINE 3 DIGITAL IN
(OPTICAL) jack.
INPUT
• The "A/V SYNC" does not effect when connecting to
SELECT
the LINE 3 DIGITAL IN (OPTICAL) jack.
