Important Safety Instructions

This unit has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a safety
feature. This plug will only fit in a polarized outlet one way. If the plug does
not fit completely into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Never use with a power strip unless the plug
can be completely inserted. Do NOT attempt to defeat this feature.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO
PERSONS:
1. For INDOOR USE ONLY.
2. Do not look directly at lighted bulb.
3. Bulb gets HOT. Use caution when turning on and off.
4. Keep fixture and bulb away from materials that may burn or melt.
5. Handle bulb with care during replacing. The glass tube of the bulb is
very fragile and can break easily.
6. Not intended for illumination of aquariums.
7. Not intended for recessed installation in ceilings or soffits.
8. Do NOT mount over sinks or stoves.
9. Do NOT mount the fixture to cabinets having a material thickness less
than 1/4 in.
10. Do NOT install the fixture inside of enclosed cabinets.
11. Electrical requirements: (UC1046-WH1-12T51-G)120VAC, 60Hz, 8W;
(UC1046-WH1-22T51-G) 120VAC, 60Hz, 14W.
12. Do NOT attempt to install while plugged in.
13. Do NOT use an extension cord. Use a power strip with integral
over current protection to supply power to the fixture.
14. Use only insulated staples or plastic ties (not included) to secure the cords.
15. Do not run ANY cords behind walls, ceilings, soffits, cabinets or a similar
permanent structure where it may be inaccessible for examination.
16. The total wattage of ALL the fixtures linked together in one chain should
NOT exceed 360 watts. Exceeding the total wattage will result in a
hazardous situation.
17. Do not leave bare wires exposed outside of the electrical compartment.
IMPORTANT: The fluorescent bulb may be packed in a separate area of the
packing materials or may already be placed into their respective sockets.
Do NOT operate the fixture with the protective support collar in place. Cut
the collar off or remove the bulb from the sockets and slide the support
collar off the lamp.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN A LOCATION CLOSE TO THE FIXTURE TO
REFER TO THEM AT A LATER TIME.

thumbs on the metal ends of the bulb (Fig. 2). While
applying slight pressure on the metal ends, roll the
bulb forward until the contact pins on the ends of the
bulb disengage from the socket (Fig. 3). Pull the bulb
straight out from the socket and set aside.
Place fixture up to the mounting surface and mark the
narrow end of the keyhole slots (Fig. 4).
Use an awl or nail to dimple the screw holes or drill a
1/16 in. pilot hole at the marked locations. Tighten the
screws leaving 1/2 in. of the screw protruding from the
surface (Fig.5).
Slide the fixture over until the narrow ends of the
keyhole slots are under the heads of the wood screws
(Fig. 6). Finish tightening the wood screws until they are
firmly seated and the fixture is tightly secured to the
mounting surface.
Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry off the plastic
cap that covers the power port on the fixture (Fig. 7).
