7.2.1 Cleaning the smoke tee
After every 500 kg of pellets burned, the smoke
exhaust tee must be cleaned by removing the stove
from its housing.
Open the door, Insert the allen key (A) into the
lock release mechanisms, rotate the closing lever
anti-clockwise in position (B) to lock the guides
(Fig. 7.8A),
Use a ash vacuum cleaner to remove the residue
inside the Tee (Fig. 7.8B)
Push the machine to the end.
Insert the allen key (A) into the lock release
mechanisms, rotate the closing lever clockwise in
position (B) to lock the guides and close the door.
7.2.2 Cleaning the heat exchange compartment
Twice every season the heat exchange compartment
must be cleaned completely by removing the cast-
iron back plate when cold. To remove the back
plate, after having taken out the cast-iron burn pot,
proceed as follows:
A) remove the protective grid from inside the box,
unscrewing the four cross-slotted screws with
a screwdriver
;
B) remove the inspection plate stop
C) remove the inspection plate unscrewing the black
knurled knob
. (Fig.7.7.1);
D) remove all pellet residuals from inside the feed pipe
with a screwdriver
The presence of condensate indicates infiltration
of water, excessive flue gas cooling or the use of
poor quality pellets. The possible cause must be
identified so as to restore correct operation of the
appliance
After cleaning, carefully reposition all the parts that
had been removed.
7.2.3 l eaning the flue
This should be performed at least twice a year, at
the start of and half-way through winter, and in any
case whenever necessary (Fig. 7.8).
If there are horizontal sections, check for and
remove any accumulated ash and soot before these
block the flow of flue gas.
If not cleaned correctly, the stove may not operate
properly, with problems including:
A) poor combustion;
B) blackening of the glass;
C) blockage of the burn pot by ash and pellets;
D) accumulated ash and excessive fouling of the heat
exchanger, with a consequent decline in efficiency.
