3. Intended use

PFEIFER chain slings are designated for lifting or transporting loads.
Use only by authorized and instructed persons and under observation of EN 818 part 4 and 6, PAS 1061,
DGUV (German Statutory Accident Insurance) regulation 100-500 – in the special chapter 2.8, DGUV Information
209-013 (ZH 1 / 103a), DGUV regulation 109-004 (ZH 1 / 323), DIN 685 part 5 – Use of chains, DIN EN 1677 –
Forged chain accessories and Cranes DGUV regulation 52.
For Austria the following rules also apply: AMVO § 8 and 9, ÖNORM M9611 (Austrian regulations & standards).
These are to be observed with priority over the DGUV rules and regulations.
In addition the accepted rules for working safely and correctly and applicable legal regulations must also be
observed for the respective country-specific use.
PFEIFER chain slings can be used without reducing the carrying capacity in the following temperature ranges
corresponding to the quality grade (GK):

Please also always observe the specifications on the WLL identification tag, if additional specifications are given
with respect to a maximum operating temperature. If there are no specifications there, the values specified here
shall apply.
Only use suitable and sufficiently dimensioned attachment points, and do not reach underneath any strapping
elements.
The maximum carrying capacity (Load) of a chain sling depends on the chain dimension (d), number of chain
legs, angle of inclination (ß) and attachment method. The carrying capacity can be taken from the stamp of the
WLL identification tag and corresponding carrying capacity tables. It applies solely in case of intended use.
