Disinfection process – lid & seal
Open the cleaning beaker. Remove the silicone seal from the lid. Thoroughly rinse
both objects (cover and seal) under running water. Wipe the entire lid (outer and
inner surfaces including the thread) and the silicone seal (outer and inner surface)
with a wipe disinfectant (*).
(*) Recommendation:
CaviWipes, Metrex
Fill the cleaning beaker with disinfection liquid
Remove the cleaning beaker magnets (not applicable for first time use). Fill the
cleaning bowl (incl. cleaning needles) with an instrument disinfection fluid for heavy
organic contamination (*). For fill quantity, see Application Table.
(*) Recommendation:
Sporicidin, Contec / Metricide OPA plus, Metrex
Disinfection process – Cleaning the needles & inside the beaker
Replace the disinfected silicone seal back into the lid or in the case of the SYMPRO
mini-cup, back into the cup. On the control panel, set a runtime of at least 10 min-
utes for higher intensity (*) and start the disinfection process.
(*) These values apply to the disinfection fluids recommended in D2 and in the
Application Table. Other settings may be required for other types of liquid or concen-
trations.
Disposal of disinfection liquid
After the end of the program, remove and open the cleaning beaker, keep the clean-
ing needles with the help of the magnet, on the bottom of the cleaning beaker, pour
out the disinfectant and dispose of according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Disinfection process – Cleaning the outside of the beaker and & sound pro-
tection ring
Remove magnets. Remove the silicone sound-proof ring / adaptor ring from the
cleaning bowl. Wipe the surface of the cleaning bowl (incl. thread and sound-proof
ring / adapter ring) with a standard wipe disinfectant (*).
(*) Recommendation:
CaviWipes, Metrex
Disinfection process – tweezers / gray cup
After use, place the tweezers and vessel into an instrument bath with commercially
available highlevel instrument disinfection liquid (*) for a high degree of organic
soling and immerse according to the manufacturer's instructions.
(*) Recommendation:
Sporicidin, Contec / Metricide OPA plus, Metrex
Next cleaning process / Storage
The cleaning beaker and cleaning needles are now ready for use again. If the next
use is not carried out immediately, the cleaning needles must be held on the under-
side of the cleaning beaker with the help of the magnet. Then, place the cleaning
beaker upside down on its lid so that it can drip dry. It is advisable to place a paper
towel underneath to absorb the moisture.
Machine thermodisinfection of the cleaning beakers (incl. lid WITHOUT
needles):
The cleaning bowls, lids, silicone seals, sound-proof ring/adaptor ring, and tweezers
can be thermally cleaned and disinfected in a certified cleaning and disinfecting
device, according to the "Hygiene requirements for the treatment of medical Devic-
es" (*). For this purpose, all listed components must be placed in the cleaning and
disinfecting unit in a dismantled state.
Take care when placing light parts appropriately (e.g. in the instrument
basket). The cleaning needles must only be disinfected manually!
Observe points D3 to D5 and store the disinfected cleaning needles in a
suitable container (for example cleaning cups, spare parts) only for the
duration of the cleaning process. Finally, for longer periods of storage,
see point D7.
