Knee orthosis for influencing the patella glide path
Purpose:
The Genu FS is a knee orthosis with traction system and patella pad for influencing
and correcting the patella glide path. The orthosis may only be used for knee treat-
ment.
Properties:
• Traction system for influencing and correcting the patella glide path
• Fast and easy correction adjustment
• Direct force transmission
• Compressive knit fabric
• Flexible knit fabric in the hollow of the knee
• Calf strap
• Latex-free
Indications:
• Femoro-patellar pain syndrome
• Patella alta
• Patellar lateralisation
Contraindication:
Do not apply the product in direct contact with broken skin.
Side effects:
No side effects are as yet known for correct use.
Directions for putting on the orthosis
Before you put it on:
• Please open the calf strap and loosen the patella traction system first.
• To avoid damage to the knit fabric, please make sure that the Velcro pads are
always fastened to the designated Velcro surfaces when putting it on and taking it
off.
Putting on the orthosis:
• Grasp the orthosis at the top.
• Turn the orthosis by approximately 90°. Step into the orthosis with your foot
extended and then pull it up over your leg.
• Please make sure that the patella pad is placed correctly around the patella
(= knee cap).
Adjusting the pressure of the traction system:
• Upper strap: To adjust the traction system individually, simply undo the Velcro
fastening of the upper strap on the inside of the leg, apply slight tension to pull it
towards the inside of your leg until the pressure is correct, then re-fasten the
Velcro tab. The strap can be cut to suit if it is too long.
• Calf strap: First undo the Velcro fastening and loosen the strap. To adjust the
pressure of the traction system, apply slight tension to pull the strap towards the
