Before checking the oil level, make sure the engine is off and the pump is on a surface that
is even and stable.
• Do not thread the gauge inside the oil tank to check the level.
• If the oil level is under the minimum level
indicated on the gauge, fill up to the maximum
level with the adequate oil (see table).
• Change the oil if it is contaminated (See
Maintenance plan).
• Use SC oil (API classification) or a higher grade
oil.
• If you use multigrade oil, consumption tends to
increase if the ambient temperature increases.
YANMAR recommends the use of CD oil found in
the "API Engine Service" classification.
Always use oil of an adequate viscosity for the
ambient temperature in which the engine has to
work. Use the chart on the right to choose the oil for
your engine.
Use appropriate lubricating oil to maintain the
engine in good condition.
Nothing affects the performance and life of a pump
more than the lubricating oil used. When using a low
quality oil or by not changing the oil in the engine
regularly, there is an increased risk of piston and
piston rings seizure, resulting in the rapid wear of
the cylinder, bearings and other driving parts.
The life of a pressure pump will be considerably
reduced.
Fill the oil tank up to the top of the filling inlet while
keeping the engine even.

3.5. Preparing to start the pump
• Only use fuel recommended for diesel engines. The use of fuel that is not recommended
could cause engine damage or break down.
• Avoid dust and water getting into the fuel. When filling the tank with fuel in cans, make sure
dust or water does not get into the fuel. This could cause serious problems in the nozzle
and the fuel injection pump.
