Requirements
(Figure 4 and Figure 5):
Table 1: Protecta® Cobra™ Rope Grab and Rope
6 kN (1 349 lb)
100 kg (220 lb)
Minimum: -35 °C (-31 °F)
Maximum: 57 °C (134,6 °F)
Anchorage Strength requirements vary with the fall protection application.
The structure to which the Rope Grab and vertical lifeline are connected must be capable
of sustaining force in the anticipated direction(s) of loading. Each Anchorage Point location
must be capable of sustaining the following values:
EN795:2012
12 kN (2 698 lb)
Do not use a Energy-Absorbing Lanyard or a Restraint Lanyard with this equipment.
;
Only lifeline ropes which meet the size, construction, and material properties required
for compatible use with this rope grab may be used.
;
Knots shall not be used for load bearing end terminations, but may be an acceptable
means of securing the free end of the lifeline at ground level or attaching counterweight
at ground level.
Figure 4 illustrates how Rope Grab positioning affects Fall Clearance and Figure 5 specifies
these values.
