9. Adjust the Water Temperature
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury. Do not set the water
temperature above 120°F (49°C). Set the water temperature at
or below 120°F (49°C) to minimize the risk associated with
scalding hazards. It is the installer's responsibility to adjust
the maximum water temperature of the valve.
NOTICE: Do not remove the O-ring and collar at this time. Doing
so will change the factory-set maximum water temperature.
Turn the valve clockwise to the full open position, then let the hot
water run for several minutes. Insert a thermometer into the
water stream to check the water temperature.
For minor water temperature changes, adjust the setscrew, then
recheck the water temperature.
For major water temperature changes, remove the O-ring and
collar from the valve stem. Slowly rotate the valve stem until the
desired maximum water temperature is reached.
Reinstall the collar on the valve stem with the setscrew against
the side of the tab.
Reinstall the O-ring, then rotate the valve stem counterclockwise
to shut the water off.
Recheck the water temperature.
Reinstall the mixing valve trim.
Complete the information on the valve label (if supplied).
