Safety information for
surface planers and
thicknessers
• Check that the machine is in a
fault-free condition before use.
• Only use well-sharpened and
well-maintained blades.
• Only use blades that are de-
signed for this machine.
• When working, completely cov-
er the planer blade with the
blade cover at the points where
you are not planing.
• Wear personal protective equip-
ment when working.
Wear hearing protection to reduce
the risk of becoming hard of hearing.

Wear respiratory protection to re-
duce the risk of inhaling harmful dust.
• Wear gloves when handling the
blade shaft and when working
with rough materials. This reduces
the risk of injury from sharp edges.
• Do not carry out the following
work as this may cause injury:

Insertion work, i.e. any machining
that does not extend over the entire
length of the workpiece;

Do not create indentations, tenons or
recesses with the device;

Do not plane very bent wood where
there is not suffi cient contact with the
feed table.
• Secure a long workpiece from
tipping by using a roller table or
similar.
• Do not operate the machine
without protective equipment.
• Damaged or contaminated work-
pieces can present a risk. The
penetration of metal parts and
spattering pieces into the work-
piece can be very dangerous.
• If possible, only connect the device to a
power socket with a residual current de-
vice (RCD) with a rated residual current
no more than 30 mA.
