blet count method. Alkalinity P is a measure of the water up to the pH-value
8.3 (colour change of phenolphthaleine) resultant from the presence of hydro-
xides, carbonates, bicarbonates and a minor part from silicates and phosphates.

1. Take the sample of water into the sample container provided, filling to the 100 ml
mark.
2. Add one Alkalinity P tablet and shake the container until the tablet disintegrates.
