MOBIDERM autofit
SYSTEM TO MOBILISE SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE - LOWER LIMB
1 - The MOBIDERM autofit range
THUASNE's MOBIDERM autofit range is a range of systems designed
to mobilise oedematous or indurated subcutaneous tissues.
It is presented in the form of self-adjustable garments intended
for the treatment of lymphoedema during the maintenance phase.
In particular, this range includes:
• a standard sleeve with mitten and thumb for the treatment of
lymphoedema of the upper limb,
• a standard sock and stocking for the treatment of lymphœdema
of the lower limb.
2 - Treatment principle
MOBIDERM autofit garments combine two actions:
• The MOBIDERM system creates a pressure differential between
the contact zone underneath the foam cubes composing the
system and their surrounding area, leading to a shear effect on
the subcutaneous tissues treated.
• The adjustable nature of the products allows fitting to the
patient's morphology.
3 - Use
The garments are designed for the oedema stabilisation phase
in lymphoedema. They should be worn following the reduction
phase, usually achieved using an appropriate reducing bandage.
MOBIDERM autofit garments can be worn both day and night.
In all cases, it is important to closely follow your doctor's
prescription and recommendations for use, particularly how long
the garment should be worn for and the period during which it
should be worn (day / night).
4 - Indications
MOBIDERM autofit garments:
• Maintenance of volume reduction in lymphoedema.
• Softening of fibrosis.
5 - Contraindications
Do not use on broken skin or on a skin surface that is infected or
very swollen.
Do not use in the following cases:
• Known allergies to the materials used
• Advanced diabetic microangiopathy
• Stage III or IV arterial disease of the limbs
• Decompensated heart failure
• Exudative skin condition on the limb treated
6 - Precautions for use
MOBIDERM autofit garments are reserved for use by one patient
only.
It is recommended that areas of excessive shear be monitored. In
the event of allergy, redness or blisters, place a pad or protective
bandage between MOBIDERM autofit and the skin.
In these cases and due to the high shear force of MOBIDERM
autofit, daily monitoring of the treated skin is advised and it is
recommended that the system only be applied every other day.
If abnormal symptoms persist, stop treatment and contact your
doctor quickly.
Due to the constantly evolving nature of the condition, regular
monitoring by your doctor is recommended, to check that the
garment is still suitable.
7 - Fitting instructions
Following inspection and trophic assessment: carefully follow the
advice of the health professional who prescribed the product and,
in particular, the recommendations with respect to positioning of
the velcro tabs.
Adjustment of velcro tabs
MOBIDERM autofit has tightening levels (+/++/+++/++++) at
several points, that can be adjusted to fit your morphology and
depending on the size of the device supplied. Recommendations
for adjustment of the velcro tabs are also given at the start of
the leaflet. These adjustments are given by way of indication
only. Always refer to the recommendations of the doctor having
prescribed the product.
Putting on the garment
1- Slip the garment onto the leg.
2- Position the velcro tabs in areas (+/++/+++/++++) in accordance
with your doctor's recommendations. Proceed in several stages
until the recommended adjustment is obtained.
3- Rub the garment to evenly distribute the blocks.
You can refer to the illustrated instructions for use at the start of
this leaflet for putting on the garment.
8 - Washing instructions
See product label.
Fasten the velcro tabs before washing.
Two washing options are possible:
• Hand wash: soak the system in cold soapy water, rub with a clean
sponge and squeeze out excess water.
• Machine wash: use the wool programme, cold temperature and
place in a wash bag. Squeeze out excess water by hand.
• In both cases, allow to dry without using direct heat.
When the garment is not being worn, it should preferably be stored
flat, with the velcro tabs fastened. If you need to fold it, position
the hooks on the outside (see photo C).
9 - Composition
Main materials:
• Outer surface of the garment: 59% polyamide, 41% elastane.
• MOBIDERM (15 x 15 mm cubes): adhesive non-woven fabric,
polyurethane foam.
• MOBIDERM foam (5 x 5 mm cubes): adhesive non-woven fabric,
polyethylene foam.
