Installation
Requirements
• A circulation pump must be installed in the hea-
ting system.
• Install the volume measuring section (VMT) in the
outlet.
• Observe the direction of flow!
• If installed in cold water, cooling water, refrigera-
tion cycles etc., the heat meter must be insulated
on-site in order to avoid the formation of con-
densate. In such cases, operating elements and
displays must be kept free.
Installation position
• Construction type WS: only for horizontal installa-
tion
• Construction type WP: for any installation.
Information about the installation
situation
• In front of and behind the VMT, a straight, di-
sturbance-free pipe length is required. This pipe
length must be at least 3x DN! If not possible:
install a honeycomb rectifier
• If centrifugal pumps, pipe elbows or isolation val-
ves are installed for throttling directly in front of
the inlet section, a honeycomb rectifier must be
installed which reduces the flow momentum.
Spacing of the honeycomb rectifier and the volu-
me measuring section: 1 x DN.
Other isolation valves in front of or behind the
VMT must always be fully opened during system
operation.
• If a type WS Woltmann meter has a pipe elbow
directly in front of the inlet section, the inlet
section must be at least 5 x DN or a honeycomb
rectifier must be installed.
