Endocavity Transducer Soaking Cup
INTENDED USE
• The soaking cup is intended to be used as a container in which another medical device
is soaked in a disinfecting solution.
WARNING
• To avoid skin irritation, wear gloves when handling devices exposed to disinfecting
solutions. Wash hands after handling exposed devices.
• See your system's operator manual for instructions on reprocessing your
transducer.
ASSEMBLING SOAKING CUP BRACKET
For use with wall mount
• Enclosed wall mounting hardware works with most masonry, dry wall and other flat
NOTE
surfaces. Consult your facility's manager before installation.
1. Mount soaking cup bracket onto wall.
2. Select appropriate positions for mounting hardware. Drill anchor holes and
insert anchors.
3. Position bracket on wall and insert screws through bracket into anchors. Bracket
should be firmly secured to wall.
For use with table mount
1. Place stabilizer and soaking cup bracket back-to-back on flat surface.
2. Insert long truss head bolt on back of soaking cup bracket and fasten to "T" nut
insert. Do not tighten.
3. After each bolt is in place, stabilizer can be adjusted vertically if necessary.
Tighten bolts with screwdriver. Do not overtighten.
4. Insert rubber feet (5) into bottom of assembly.
USING SOAKING CUP
• Tested for use with CIDEX OPA
WARNING
equivalent .55% ortho-phthalaldehyde-based solution, CIDEX
(Johnson & Johnson) or equivalent 2% glutaraldehyde-based solution, CIDEX
Plus
• Soaking cup accommodates transducers not exceeding 9" in length.
• Prior to use verify proper fit between transducer and funnel size. Ensure transducer
lens does not come in contact with bottom of soaking cup.
1. Remove lid and funnels. Fill cup with disinfectant, leaving 3" at top of cup. Do
not overfill. Log date disinfectant is activated.
2. Replace appropriate funnel and lid.
• Blue funnel is provided for transducers with larger nosepieces.
NOTE
• White funnel is provided for all other applications.
3. Insert transducer(s). Refer to chemical manufacturer's recommendations for
proper disinfecting procedures.
4. When soaking is complete, remove transducer(s) from soaking cup.
5. Seal soaking cup with lid when not in use.
DISPOSAL
• When disinfectant expires , dispose of solution according to chemical

manufacturer's directions. Cup, funnel and lid should be replaced with each
disinfectant cycle. Contact CIVCO for replacement kits.
