Pocket Transmitter
Please read these operating instructions carefully prior to
operating the unit and keep them for later reference.
1 Applications
This electret headband microphone with UHF PLL pocket
transmitter is used for wireless transmission of vocals and
speech to a receiver (16 channels in the frequency range
863 – 865 MHz).
The following receivers from "img Stage Line" are suit-
able for combination with the TXS-81SX:
TXS-81
order no. 25.4330
Diversity receiver for mains or battery operation
TXS-81PLUG
order no. 25.4350
Compact receiver with attached 6.3 mm plug for direct
connection to an input jack
Frequency setting via ACT (automatic channel targeting)
is a most convenient feature: Simply press a button to ad-
just the pocket transmitter via IR signal to the channel se-
lected on the receiver.

3 Setting into Operation
3.1 Power supply
To insert the battery, slide open the battery compartment
cover (10) in the direction of arrow. Insert a 1.5 V battery
of size AA into the compartment. Observe the correct po-
larity (as indicated on the inside of the cover). Then close
the cover.
3.2 Connection and Attachment
Connect the plug (3) of the headband microphone to the
3.5 mm jack (5) of the pocket transmitter. The DC voltage
required by the microphone is available at the jack. The
connector is equipped with a latching mechanism to pre-
vent accidental disconnection. Connect the plug to the
jack and turn it clockwise to tighten.
Put on the headband microphone (1) as shown in the
figure. Place the microphone cartridge close to your
mouth in a favourable position for talking. For this pur-
pose, the microphone arm will bend in any direction.
The pocket transmitter can be attached to your clothes
with its belt clip (4). Make sure that the transmitting an-
tenna (2) is not squeezed.
3.3 Setting the transmission channel
To set the transmitter to the same transmission frequency
as the receiver used:
1) Switch on the pocket transmitter with the button
POWER / MUTE (8).
2) Aim the infrared sensor ACT (6) at the IR diode of the
wireless receiver. The distance should not exceed
1.5 m. Make sure that there are no obstacles between
the sensor and the transmitting diode.
3) Switch on the wireless receiver.
4) Press the button ACT on the wireless receiver (if nec-
essary, see the instruction manual of the wireless re-
ceiver).
Between step 1 and step 4 there must not be more than
25 seconds; after that, the pocket transmitter will no
longer be ready to receive the infrared signal (to save the
battery).
When receiving the IR signal, the symbol "ACT" (E)
starts flashing on the display (9) of the pocket transmitter.
Then the channel selected (C) and the corresponding fre-
quency (D) should be indicated. If the pocket transmitter
has not accepted the frequency, switch it off (keep the but-
ton POWER / MUTE pressed until the display shows
"OFF") and switch it on again (press the button briefly).
Then repeat the infrared transmission.
