2. Safety Recommendations

• Do not begin mixture preparation and pul-
verization without carefully reading all the
recommendations provided by the protec-
tion product manufacturer. Use approved,
recommended and appropriate individual
protection equipment (IPEs). During han-
dling, mixture preparation and pulveri-
zation use all protection equipment rec-
ommended by the agricultural protection
product manufacturer.
• After pulverization, remove the IPEs follow-
ing the sequence indicated in the use in-
structions and take a shower. The IPEs must
be washed separately from the normal, ev-
eryday- use clothing.
• Incase of contact with the agricultural pro-
tection product, wash the affected site
with running water for at least 15 minutes.
Remember: the majority of contamination
cases occur at the time of mixture prepa-
ration, when the agricultural protection
product is still unmixed, and gets into con-
tact with the person's hands.
• If the tractor possesses a cabin compart-
ment, read the equipment instructions
manual (tractor or cabin). Follow whatev-
er the equipment manufacturer recom-
mends. In case you notice that contami-
nation has occurred (smell the agricultural
protection product) caused by lack of care
in working with the door opened or by the
entry of contaminated materials (e.g.: IPEs),
immediately use a respiratory face protec-
tor (mask) – approved and appropriate –
and contact the tractor's manufacturer;
• The intoxication symptoms are: passing
out, affliction, anxiety, convulsions, weak-
ness, headaches, malaise, vertigo, blurry
vision, nausea, vomiting, stomach pains,
diarrhea, urine with different color and tex-
ture, eye, nose and throat irritation, cough
and lacrimation. At any signs of any of
these symptoms, call a doctor and if pos-
sible, find the label of the agricultural pro-
tection product.
• If the victim vomits, make him/ her sit
down. Never give any type of alcoholic
beverage or milk for intoxicated people.
Keep the victim calm and in a comfortable
position until help arrives.
• The work environment conditions may de-
mand the use of more items or the non-use
of other items in order to increase safety
and comfort of the product applier.
• The IPEs were not developed to replace
other application precautions, but actually
to supplement them, avoiding exposal.
• In order to reduce contamination risks, the
handling and application operations must
be done carefully, so to avoid any contact
or exposal.
