1. Introduction

Jacto, concerned with the safety and well-be-
ing of the agricultural protection product
users, starts to offer the most modern items
for individual protection attire (IPE – Individ-
ual Protection Equipment), holding as main
purpose to reduce the risk of accidents de-
rived from handling chemical products used
in agriculture.
The prescription of IPEs must be made by
the agronomy engineer in his/her prescrip-
tion book.
The use of such IPEs is mandatory and pro-
vided in normative rules while in the field
and if prescribed by the agronomy engineer.
According to NR 31 from the Brazilian Min-
istry of Labor and Employment (MTEB), it is
the employer's duty to:
• Supply the proper IPE, manage the IPE
hygiene, train the employee, demand and
inspect IPE use.
It is the employee's duty to:
• Use the IPE whenever handling any type of
agricultural protection product, notify em-
ployer when the IPE needs to be changed
and manage the conservation of the IPE.
Based on such arguments, Jacto will sell
two distinct IPE models. They are:
Knapsack sprayer – IPE specific for prepa-
ration and application of chemical products
with manual knapsack sprayer.
Tractor sprayer – IPE specific for preparation and
application of chemical products with tractors.
These IPEs are certified in quality by the IAC
– Instituto Agronômico de Campinas/ SP
[Campinas Agronomic Institute] – Quality
Program in individual protection equipment
– QUEPIA.
They also possess the approval certificate
from the Brazilian Ministry of Labor and Em-
ployment (MTEB). This approval certificate at-
tests that a product is in compliance with the
rules and standards of Associação Brasileira
de Normas Técnicas – ABNT [Brazilian Techni-
cal Standards Association] and is considered
apt to be sold as an IPE (Individual Protection
Equipment).
The MANUFACTURER adopts a
continuous improvement poli-
cy for its products. Therefore, it
reserves the right to change its
products without previous no-
tice and without incurring any
type of obligation derived from
such changes.
