GENERATOR SET OVERLOAD
Never exceed the rated power capacity (Amperes and/or Watts) during continuous ope-
ration. Before connecting and running the generator set, calculate the electrical power
consumption of the electrical equipment (in Watts or Amperes). This electrical power (in
Watts and/or Amperes) is generally found on the identification plate of bulbs, electrical ap-
pliances, motors, etc. The total of all the powers of the equipment used should not exceed
at any one time the rated power of your generator set.
Note: an electrical appliance (compass saw, drill, etc.) consumes more Watts or Amperes
than the number specified on the identification plate when the motor is subjected to difficult
use. For example, a saw that is to cut an extremely hard material consumes 3 to 4 times
more Watts or Amperes than the number specified on its identification plate.
