line manually. The cutting line must be unwound each time the motor reaches higher rotation than during normal operation.
It is recommended to move the trimmer during work from the right to the left. Avoid however mowing with movements from the left
to the right. This will permit the operator to avoid the grass ejected during cutting.
Avoid cutting bushes and shrubs. Operation of the trimmer near trees may damage the bark. Hitting with the cutting line against
stones, bricks, walls or other similar surfaces may cause a very quick wear of the cutting line.
Operation of the hedge trimmer
Do not work with the device at low rotation or during start-up. The most efficient operation is guaranteed if cutting is realised
through sweeping movements. To increase the efficiency incline the trimmer slightly downwards.
In order to achieve a uniform height of the hedge use a line placed along the cutting level. Cut the section of the hedge above
the line. It is possible to trim hedges vertically. It is recommended to trim hedges along an arc upwards. Due to the design of the
trimmer, in case the fuel tank is not full after a long time of side cutting the motor may turn off. In order to prevent it, return the
trimmer to the horizontal position from time to time.
Operation of the garden chain sawing machine
During work it is required to observe the basic safety instructions. Take into account the possibility of the machine rebounding
towards the operator. The sawing machine may rebound towards the operator if the movement of the cutting chain is obstructed.
To minimise the risk pay attention to the position of the top of the guide during cutting. Do not cut with the upper quarter of the
top of the guide (XXI).
Cutting must be carried out with the section of the chain which moves along the lower part of the guide. It is required to put a
working sawing machine to the piece of wood to be cut. Do not start the sawing machine, having placed it against the piece of
wood to be cut.
Do not stand in the cutting plane. This will permit to reduce the risk of injury in case of a rebound of the sawing machine (XXII).
While transporting the sawing machine make sure it has been turned off. It is required to place the guard on the chain guide. The
sawing machine must be handled with the guide directed backwards, and hot elements of the motor must be kept away from
the body. During work always keep the sawing machine with both hands. Make sure the chain is always sharp and correctly
tensioned.
While cutting and boughs, it is recommended not to cut them immediately at the trunk, but at a distance of approximately 15 cm
from the trunk. It is required to realise two cuts to a depth equivalent to 1/3 of the diameter of the branches at a distance of ap-
proximately 8 cm from each other. One cut must be made upwards and the other one downwards.
Then cut the branch directly at the trunk to a depth equivalent to 1/3 of the diameter of the branch. Finish the cutting directly at the
trunk downwards. Do not cut branches upwards. (XXIII)

MAINTENANCE OF THE DEVICE

Before you commence any of the following actions, turn the device off. Make sure the motor is cold. Remove the spark plug so
as to avoid accidental activation of the sawing machine.
Replacement and maintenance of the spark plug (XXIV)
Remove the rubber protection of the spark plug contact and the spark plug itself, using a spark plug wrench.
Check the electrodes of the spark plug. If they are soiled, try to clean the electrodes with a brass wire brush. If they cannot be
cleaned, replace the spark plug.
Check the spark plug at least once a month.
Maintenance of the air filter (XXV)
Maintenance of the air filter must be carried out after each use of the device.
Remove the screw of the filter cover and the cover itself.
Pull out the filter and rinse it in warm water with soap.
Dry the filter completely and install it.
Install the filter cover.
Other maintenance actions
After each use check also the general conditions of the device. Tighten loose bolted connections. Check for fuel leakage. Check
is the ventilation slots are clean. Check if all the protections and housings are in good conditions and free from cracks or other
damage. Before further work eliminate all the detected defects.
Maintenance of the muffler and the exhaust system
Depending on the fuel, oil and the mixture proportions, carbon deposit or soot may accumulate in the muffler and the exhaust
system. This may lead to a reduced efficiency of the device. In order to restore the original efficiency, have the device inspected
in a specialised workshop.
