THE MANNER FOR SECURING MAXIMUM SAFETY:
Proper instruction for the personnel is of vital importance. This will contribute
to maximum safety in the working environment.
The IPHTON and IPHS clamps may be used per pair, per three clamps or with
several pairs simultaneously for the lifting of steel plates. Ensure that each
clamp receives its equal share of the load. When using more than two clamps
and equalizing beam is recommended.
Check when placing the clamp on the plate, that slings are not twisted.
Hardness: It is possible with the standard clamps to lift steel with a hardness
of up to 37 Rc (345 HB). For harder steel types contact the Safety Engineer at
Inter Product.
Temperature: The temperature at which the standard lifting clamps may be
used lies between 100º C (212º F) and -40º C (-40º F).
For other temperatures consult our technicians.
Loads: For proper application of the clamp consult the load diagrams below.
When using endless reeved chain the maximum admissible top angle is 60º
and the W.L.L. 50% of the maximum admissible W.L.L.
Several plates may be transported or lifted per lift.
The IPHTON- IPHS clamps may not be used for sagging plates.
During the tensioning of cables or chains the clamps must remain properly
positioned.
During the descent of the load there may be no obstacles present under the
load that can impede the load causing a clamp to be unloaded. The clamps
may only release the load when it is in a stable position.
A lifting clamp must be clean when used. Dirt has a deleterious affect on the
operation and hence also on the safety of the clamp. When the clamp is dirty
and greasy it can be cleaned with diesel oil or petroleum. Then blow dry with
air or dry with a cloth in the pivot pins and apply a little lubricant. It is
important to ensure that the clamp faces are clean at all times. Regular
cleaning will enhance the lifetime and safety of your lifting clamps.
Never straighten, attempt to bend or heat treat parts.

No changes may be made to our clamps.
