SWITCHING ON / SWITCHING OFF
The mains voltage must match the voltage on the rating plate of the sander.
Impulse (short) use: Press the switch button (2) and hold it.
Continuous operation: Press the switch button (2) and secure it in the position by pressing the switch lock
button (fig. D)
Switching off Press and release pressure on switch button (2).
ROTATIONAL SPEED CONTROL KNOB (WHEEL)
Orbital sander works at various rotational speeds. Rotational speed is controlled using the rotational speed
control knob (wheel) (6). Control of rotational speed makes it possible to select rotational speed of the
power tool appropriate for processed material. Speed control range is 1-5 plus MAX.
The higher the number seen on the circumvent of the rotational speed control knob (wheel) (6) (fig. E) the
higher rotational speed of the sander.
Proper selection of rotational speed is done when the orbital sander is running, without load, when the
switch lock button is pressed. Rotational speed selected when the sander is running under load can be
lower.
ORBITAL SANDER OPERATION
Whole area of backing pad must rest on the processed surface.
Turn the sander on and apply moderate pressure; move it on the processed material in circular
movements, in transverse or lengthwise direction.
For coarse processing use sanding paper with coarse grain, for finishing processing use fine-grained
paper. It is best to match the type of sanding paper by trials and errors.
When finishing polishing, reduce pressure, lift the sander above the processed surface and only after
that switch the tool off.
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before commencing any activities related to
installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
It is recommended to clean the sander immediately after each use.
Do not clean the device with water or other liquids.
The device should be cleaned with a dry piece of cloth or with compressed air at low pressure. Do not use
any cleaning agents or solvents, as they may damage the parts made of plastic.
Clean ventilation slots in the motor housing on regular basis to prevent overheating of the device.
In case of excessive commutator sparking have the technical condition of carbon brushes of the motor
checked.
The device must always be stored in a dry place out of reach of children.
REPLACEMENT / CHANGE OF SANDER BACKING PAD
If the sander backing pad must be replaced with another backing pad or when the backing pad is faulty,
please proceed as follows:
Remove screws securing the backing pad (5) (figure G).
Remove and replace the backing pad.
Tighten the screws.
REPLACEMENT OF CARBON BRUSHES
Replace immediately used up (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or cracked motor carbon brushes. Always
replace both brushes at a time.
Entrust replacement of carbon brushes only to a qualified person. Only original parts should be used.
