Measurement lead with voltage divider
The measurement lead with voltage divider
(1 687 224 301) is used for voltage measurements
up to 60 VDC/30 VAC/300 VACpeak. The
accessory set (1 687 016 118) contains test
prods (1 684 485 434/... 435) and pick-off clips
(1 684 480 435/... 436) as accessories for the
measurement lead with voltage divider. Never use the
measurement lead with voltage divider to measure
mains or similar voltages.

Initial commissioning
4.1
Unpacking

Remove the packaging from all components
supplied.
4.2
Connection
1. Use the power supply unit to supply the FSA 500
with power.
2. Switch on the FSA 500.
3. Charge the storage battery.
LED B glows purple during charging.
Storage battery charged: LED B glows blue.
4. Remove the power supply unit and power supply
cable.
5. Connect the sensors at the measurement unit slots
provided (see fig. 2).

Only connect amps clamp 30 A (1 687 225 020 -
special accessory) and amps clamp 1000 A as well
as adapter cable 1 684 465 513 (special accessory)
if necessary.

4.3
Software installation
i
Heed the system prerequisites before starting
installation. FSA 500 can only be operated
with DCU 220 or a computer and with
FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus] software installed.

For control unit diagnosis with CAS[plus], the
current ESI[tronic] software (ESI[tronic] info
type SD) must be installed and licensed on the
computer. In this case it is advisable to install the
ESI[tronic] software first. Control unit diagnosis is
possible only with a KTS module.
1. Close all running applications.
2. Insert the "FSA 500CompacSoft[plus]" DVD in the
DVD drive.
3. Start "Windows Explorer".
4. Start D:\RBSETUP.EXE' (D = DVD drive letter).
Setup will start.
5. Read and follow the instructions on screen.

During installation of the software, the USB driver
for FSA 500 must be installed when prompted.
6. Select the Install option in the dialog box.
7. When prompted, connect FSA 500 to computer.
The USB driver for FSA 500 is installed.

After the USB driver is installed, installation of the
FSA 500 CompacSoft [plus] software is completed.

If CoRe software is not installed on the computer, a
prompt to install it appears.
1. Confirm the prompt.
Installation starts.
2. Read and follow the instructions on screen.

At the end of the installation, initial setup of the
CoRe software takes place.
3. If FSA 500 is used as a non-networked application,
select the version Server for the CoRe network
auswählen.
4. Make and confirm the remaining settings for initial
setup.
